shooting dream

I wonder why I didn't have ballet lesson when i was young.
My parents would sent me to drawing class, chinese caligraphy, swimming lesson, comic class, piano, but not ballet.
I asked mum one day:' Ma, why you never let me learn ballet?'
Ma:' I heard that ballet might injure your joint and slows down your bone development.'
I guess ma should had thought of letting me join the lesson (ironically I'm short).
